Vol. 1 “Wearing weaving”

Once upon a time in Mitsuke City, Niigata, JAPAN.

Niigata has been famous for its rice farming throughout history.

My parents still carry on the tradition of growing rice into their 80s.

Mitsuke-city is also renowned for its weaving. At the height of weaving, there were over 100 studios. Today, only a few remain.

Majority of the weaving processes is reliant on the skillful hands of artisans.

This story begins with the wish to bridge the traditions of our ancestors to our future by “Wearing weave.”

By “Wearing weave,” we embody our history and culture and carry it with us as we step into the future.
